Clinical Challenges in Labor and Delivery
September 9-11, 2011
Chicago, Illinois
The Birth World Congress (Chicago, September 9-11, 2011) follows the previous meeting held in Rome, where experts in multiple disciplines came together to discuss the important issues and challenges regarding birth. Chairpersons of the conference are Roberto Romero, M.D. (USA) and Gian Carlo Di Renzo, M.D. (Italy), both internationally recognized experts in perinatology. Dr. Romero is Chief of the Perinatology Research Branch and Program Director for Obstetrics and Perinatology, Intramural Division, NICHD, NIH, DHHS. Dr. Di Renzo is Professor and Chair, University of Perugia, Italy, and the Reproductive and Perinatal Medicine Center, Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital in San Sisto (PG), Italy.
PeriGen’s Senior Vice President of Clinical Research, Emily Hamilton, M.D., will present new methods for evaluating labor progress at the conference. Dr. Hamilton’s presentation, which will take place during the opening session, will trace the evolution of labor assessment from the development of the Friedman curve to the use of modern multifactorial methods, such as the PeriCALM® Curve™. Dr. Hamilton’s presentation will also highlight emerging areas of research that should further advance the understanding and management of labor.
